You’re just doing it the hard way

YOU’RE NOT BAD AT THIS

You're good at your work. You know that.

The question is why you can't seem to figure out what to say, to get the right people to pay attention to it.

You've got a website, probably. You added some blogs a while ago — it seemed like the right thing to do. You're networking, coffee-chatting... wondering which of the random acts of marketing being shouted about in your feed are actually worth paying attention to.

Ah, your FEED. Socials seem like a must, but it's a whole THING. You spend ages on a post. You read it back, tweak it, delete a line, add it back, publish it.

Twelve people see it.

You've tried getting help. AI. Your VA. A social media manager you met in that networking group.

It was… fine. It looked good. And it helped you stay "visible." But you're not really sure if it did anything for your business. And it never quite sounded like you, though you're not sure you could explain why.

And, always, that feeling that marketing shouldn't be THIS hard, all the time. That you just want to get back to your actual work. That your work deserves better than this.

You're not wrong.

There IS a better way to do your content.

If you’re like most people you think

the problem is…

…you’re bad at writing.
…you don’t have enough time.
Or both.

But the REAL sticky part is knowing what you actually want to say.

That sounds obvious. But is it? You're so close to your own work that it's weirdly difficult to see it from the outside. What's most valuable to your clients is often what's most invisible to you — because it's just how you think. It's the air you breathe.

So you sit down to write. And you reach for the tactical stuff — what you do, how you do it, a tip, a tool, a thought for the week.

It's fine. It's not wrong. But it's not the thing that makes someone read it and think...

"I need to work with this person."

That missing link — between what you know and what you need to say — is what makes it feel hard all the time.

That's why it feels like no one is paying attention: You haven't translated your point of view into something people can remember.

That's why AI output feels flat: you haven't given it anything distinctive to work from. You can't outsource a perspective you haven't fully formed yourself.

That's why posting more doesn't fix the problem: it's just scaling guesswork.

You're not bad at writing. It's just time to figure out what you really have to say. Once that's sorted, everything else gets easier.

“BUT NOBODY READS

long-form content anymore”

If you're picturing a 2014-era SEO blog stuffed with keywords and made-up FAQs… yep, that’s fair. That kind of content isn't helping anyone anymore.

But that's not what we're doing here.

What we're creating is a library of assets that showcase your work. The kind of thoughtful writing that does real work for your business. (Don't worry, I really do mean "we." We do this together.)

These articles will work for you on your website, so the people who find you through a referral, a podcast, a LinkedIn post or a Google search actually understand what you do — before they ever reach out.

They'll work for you in search, because long-form content is still how Google decides you know what you're talking about. And increasingly, it's how AI tools decide that too.

They'll work for you in sales conversations, because "have a read of this and see what resonates" is a more generous way to qualify someone than a 45-minute call trying to explain yourself from scratch.

They'll work for you as source material for everything else you post. One article can carry a month of social content — without staring at a blank post field wondering what to say.

They'll work for you as the brief you give AI, so what comes back actually sounds like you. Not generic-expert voice.

The point isn't how long they are. The point is the job they do.

And the job they do is this: They give you somewhere to share your thinking — permanently — so you don't have to keep doing it from scratch every Tuesday morning.

LENS

MEET

A 1:1 co-creation programme for experts, consultants and founder-led businesses who are ready to stop winging it with their marketing and start building a system that serves them.

TOGETHER, WE CREATE A CORE LIBRARY

of 12 strategic, long-form, blog-style

articles that fully capture

THE VALUE OF YOUR WORK.

This is not a content calendar of prompts and post ideas. It's a capsule wardrobe of words about your work — each piece doing a specific job in your marketing, each one written in your voice, each one grounded in what your right-fit clients actually need to hear.

Some of them, I draft for you, based on a deep interview and real strategic thinking about your business. Some of them, you create with my coaching and frameworks — which is where the real long-term benefits begin to build, the ones that keep compounding long after we finish.

By the end, you have 12 articles you're genuinely proud of. A repurposing backbone for social. A custom AI brief so the tools you use actually sound like you. And a much clearer answer to the question asking what you do — because you've invested the time in working out what's most worth saying.

It's the thinking that quick-fix content advice tries to ignore. With tangible assets that prove why it's worth it.

Here’s how

it works

A considered, 1:1 working rhythm that
fits around your life and your business.
STEP 1: INTRO + INTERVIEW

We start with a thoughtful written questionnaire, designed to draw out the thinking you've been carrying in your head for years but haven't yet written down. Take your time, write or voice note, whichever you like.

Then we meet for a 90-minute interview. We’ll talk about your work, your clients, the patterns you see, the things you wish people understood. This is where the raw material for your library starts to take shape.

STEP 2: PREP + PLAN

I take what you've told me and relate it to your market, your competitors, and the language your right-fit clients are already using. I map it all to the 12-article framework — so each piece has a specific job in your library.

You'll see the whole plan before we start writing anything.

The onboarding typically takes about a week, depending on how quickly you move through the questionnaire and find a time for the interview. From there, the rest of the programme runs over 12 weeks — a steady rhythm of drafts, feedback and a calibration call midway through.

Most weeks, you'll spend about 2 hours writing and thinking. If you have more time and want to move faster, we can arrange that. Just ask.

STEP 3: I WRITE, YOU CALIBRATE

Based on the interview and the research, I draft the first 6 articles for you. Each one is grounded in a specific marketing fundamental — the job it's doing for you.

Then you review. We refine. We make it yours.

This part is designed to be genuinely easy on your time. The hardest work is the thinking, and you've already done most of that just by being good at what you do.

We’ll have a check-in call at this stage to chat about how it’s going.

STEP 4: YOU WRITE, I COACH

This is where the benefits start compounding.

With the first 6 articles as your reference, the strategy clear, and frameworks in place, you write the remaining 6 articles for your library. With my coaching, support, and a structure that means you're not staring at a blank page.

By the time we’re finished, writing about your work isn't something you dread. It's something you value.

STEP 5: YOU REAP THE REWARDS

Along the way, we build the repurposing system so every article earns its keep on social. We set up your custom AI library so the tools you use actually sound like you. And we finish with a short handover, so you walk out with a system you can keep running on your own.

No cohort to update. No Slack channel to manage. No group calls to schedule.

Just focused, 1:1 work on one thing that makes everything else in your marketing feel easier and work better.

What it’s like doing this kind of work

I think it's given me confidence, actually, in terms of what I'm talking about. It's an important thing, when you've got a point of view, that you're comfortable with the identity that it's creating out there. I realised I couldn't cut corners, that I had to actually do this hard work. And it's been a really good exercise. It's helped get my thinking clearer, and I can talk about my point of view more easily. I've actually really enjoyed it, and it has certainly made me feel more confident in who I am and what I stand for.

Amanda's experience of how we approached her bespoke content
strategy was the inspiration for The Content Lens programme.

12 ARTICLES / 12 ANGLES

Each article has a job to do

Most content advice jumps straight to prompts and post formats.

The Content Lens starts with a better question:
What are the specific jobs your content needs to do for your business?

The 12-article framework is built from marketing fundamentals — the deep psychology behind how buyers actually decide to trust, hire and refer you. Each custom-created article in your library has a specific, evergreen role, so the library as a whole does the work most templated tactics never quite manage.

Some articles establish your authority — the ones that show how you think, and why you see your work differently from everyone else in your field.

Some name the real problem your right-fit clients are facing, in the language they actually use — so the right people feel seen when they read it.

Some make your process visible, so prospective clients understand and trust what it's actually like to work with you before they ever reach out.

Some show proof — because a well-told client story does more authentic persuading than even the cleverest sales pitch can.

Some handle the objections and hesitations that tend to come up right before someone decides to work with you — so they're already halfway resolved by the time you're in a conversation.

And some open up what's possible — the vision piece that helps your right-fit client imagine what their world looks like on the other side of working with you.

Together, your article library covers the full arc of how a thoughtful buyer makes a decision.‍ ‍

Which means your content stops being scattered and starts becoming strategic — a system that keeps working whether you're posting today or not.

The articles are your result.
And your starting point.

THE RIPPLE EFFECT

Here's what many people don't realise about creating good content. The real value of this work properly shows up in places you didn't expect.

Your sales conversations get shorter — because the people who reach out have already read two or three articles and arrived halfway convinced. You stop over-explaining. You start qualifying.

Your social posts get easier — because every article can fuel weeks of social content. No more blank-screen Tuesdays. No more scrolling your own feed for inspiration.

Your AI output gets sharper‍ ‍— because you've finally given it something useful to work with. Your voice, your frameworks, your actual ideas. The tools stop producing generic slop and start producing you.

Your website starts earning its keep — because there's finally substantial, search-friendly writing on it. People find you through Google. More right-fit visitors stay and read.

Your speaking pitches land better — because you can point to specific, thoughtful articles that show what you think and how you think it. Event organisers stop needing to take a chance on you.

Your referral partners start sending warmer leads — because they have something to link to. There’s confidence, and context.

THE BIGGEST RIPPLE

You stop wondering how to get ahead.

Not because you've caught up to the content-producing hamsters in your feed. But because you've stopped competing in the wrong race.

You've now got a body of work that represents you properly. And that changes how you feel about your business — which changes how you show up in every conversation about it.

this is the part where we should

- THE ROBOT IN THE ROOM -

TALK ABOUT USING AI

I’m excited about the opportunities for solopreneurs to use AI to create more ease + abundance in our businesses. But only once we’re clear on the foundations of our lived experience, our earned wisdom, and our unique human value.

Marketers these days seem to fall into two camps – AI is the enemy or AI is the answer.  But I believe, as I do with most things in life, that the truth is in the nuance.

AI is brilliant when you brief it well, and underwhelming (at best) when you don't.

If you’re just using AI to go faster and do more without giving it the right context, your “more” and “faster” will simply sound like a polished, perfect(ly robotic) version of everyone else’s.  That’s just how it works.

If you want it to sound like you, you’ve got to tell it what you sound like.  And for AI to really get it, you need more than a few copy-paste prompts and a lead magnet workbook.

For a proper brief – for AI to actually work for you – you need a clear, specific, articulate sense of how you think, what you stand for and what your right-fit clients need to hear. And actual examples of how you put all of that into words yourself.

It’s tempting to skip this.  The reason we want to skip it is the same reason people have dreaded blank page syndrome since the beginning of time.  Writing is hard when you’re starting from scratch.  It’s hard to take the thoughts that are so clear and vibrant in your head and do justice to them on the page.

There’s no magic bullet.  When you ask AI to “start from scratch” without giving it any context, it just goes and copies what everyone else has already done, averages it out, and offers it to you to put your name on.

Until you tell it not to. But that only works if you tell it what to work from instead.  And that’s part of what you build in The Content Lens.

Even better – when you follow the process in The Content Lens, you’re not starting from scratch. You’re starting with support, and with strategy.  We’re setting you up to use AI from a position of strength and authenticity.

Halfway through the programme, once we've established your voice, your positioning and the first few articles in your library as examples, we build you a custom AI briefing system. Trained on your work. Structured around your frameworks. Loaded with the language your right-fit clients actually use.

After that, AI stops producing generic slop. It starts producing something that sounds more like you. Because you’ve not just been given a template and left to fill in all the juicy bits yourself.

The articles you write in the second half of the programme — the ones you draft with my coaching — get easier because you're not writing alone. Any content you write after the programme ends is easier for the same reason.

This is the part lots of content programmes don't do. They either pretend AI doesn't exist, or they hand you a stack of prompts and call it a system. Both miss the point.

And the point is this: AI works best when it's working with something real. We build the something real first, then we let AI do what it's actually good at.

A little more context for you

I'm Laurie Kozan, the founder of Source Marketing Studio — brand strategy and creative for experts, consultants and founder-led businesses who want marketing that works better and feels easier.

My background is a specific combination that turns out to be particularly well-suited to this work: PR-trained strategic messaging, conversion copywriting, graphic design, and intuitive coaching. In practice, that means I don't just interview clients about their work. I interpret them. And use that insight to develop brand messaging, visual identity and website design.

That difference — between asking and interpreting — matters. Because as an expert, most of what's compelling about your work is often invisible to you. You’re too close to it. You’ve been doing it too long. It's just how you think.

My job is to notice what you can't — the golden thread connecting how you work, the thing you do that you’ve stopped noticing is special, the way your background and earned wisdom add up to a point of view that nobody else has.

Once I can see it, I help you see it. And once you see it, we can write it down — in a way that your right-fit clients will recognise instantly.

And that's the essence of The Content Lens, really. The articles aren't the offer. Noticing what's been hiding in plain sight is the offer. The articles are just how we capture it.

IS THIS FOR YOU?

The Content Lens

You're an expert, a consultant, or a founder whose work means more than you know how to say. You know your work is good. You know people need it. The question is how to talk about it in a way that actually helps people get it.

You're done with patchwork prompts and scattered tactics, and ready to build a system that serves you. You've probably tried the LinkedIn courses, the content calendars, the AI tools, the outsourcing. You've learned, first hand, that templates don't work unless you have something meaningful to put in them. This is that something.

You know, deep down, that one polarising perspective piece is worth more than a whole grid of generic posts. Palatable, forgettable content is exactly why creating content the way you've been doing it feels like a waste of time. When you say something that means something, it serves you in a whole different way. You define your voice from the inside out.

You trust yourself to do the thinking, and you want a collaborator who can see what you can't. You're not outsourcing your brain. You're not waiting for me to hand you a finished business. You want a process that draws out what's already there — and you're up for being seen clearly while it happens.

You take marketing seriously, even if you don't love it. You've made peace with the fact that good work doesn't sell itself. You'd rather do marketing once, properly, than half-do it forever. You want a foundation you can build from for years, not weeks.

The Content Lens is for you if…

You're looking for a fully done-for-you content service. This is co-creation, not delegation. If you want someone to handle it all while you're not in the room, a good copywriter or content agency that asks the right questions is a better fit than this.

You need leads in the next 3 weeks. The Content Lens builds durable assets, not quick wins. If your pipeline is on fire right now, prioritise direct outreach and sales activity. That said, doing this work alongside direct outreach can add substance and fuel to your sales conversations even before you have polished assets ready to share.

You're still working out what you do. If your work is still in flux at the foundational level — you haven't figured out who you're for, what you offer, or why it matters — you might want to do some directional strategy work first. We can talk about that.

You want to avoid marketing altogether. This programme gives you assets that make your marketing easier — but you still have to do it.

If most of the first list sounds like you,
it's time to claim your space.

This is probably not for you if…

FOCUS

I WONDER IF

you might be thinking

I really hate writing.

1

When people say this, usually what they really mean is they hate sitting down to write without knowing what to say. They hate the blank page, the drifting attention, the sense that whatever comes out won't be quite right.

Here's the secret — even great writers feel that way sometimes. It's not really a writing problem. It's a thinking problem. Once you've structured your thinking differently — once you know what you're trying to say and why it matters — writing stops feeling like pulling teeth and starts feeling like a way of capturing something that actually needed saying.

You don't need to be a good writer for this to work. You need to be good at your work, and thoughtful about how you see it. That's why we do this together. I can shape a sentence and structure your sales argument. Only you know what's inside your years of experience and the way that you, and only you, think.

I don’t have time for this.

2

Do you really have time not to? The question isn't whether this work will take time. It's whether the time you're currently spending on content — the three-hour posts, the AI drafts that need rewriting, the quarterly panic about your website — is paying you back.

The Content Lens asks for roughly two to three hours a week. Most of that time is focused and useful, because you're not starting from scratch every time. And even before the articles are finished, the conversations we have about your work tend to sharpen everything else — sales chats, social posts, the way you introduce yourself at networking events.

If twelve weeks feels long and you'd rather compress the timeline by blocking more time per week, we can talk about that too.

Does anyone actually read long-form content?

3

Short answer: Yes.

Longer answer: That's not the most interesting question. Because it’s not JUST about who’s reading it. Your long-form content does a few different things for you.

Your right-fit clients are the people who will binge what you've written, because your content is building a connection with them before you even know they exist.

It’s also an anchor, and a magnet. When you find people you want to reach out to, your long-form content can support you by offering something useful to share. Your articles do real work as search fuel, AI briefing materials, and sales proposal context.

Their depth makes them useful far beyond any algorithmic expiration date.

Isn’t AI going to make this obsolete?

4

The opposite, actually. AI makes generic content cheaper and more abundant — which makes genuinely distinctive, human-rooted content, like what we’re creating, more valuable, not less.

The thing AI can't do is have a specific, lived point of view about your work. That's what your library gives you. And that’s what you feed AI with — so what comes back actually sounds like you.

Halfway through the programme, we set up your custom AI briefing context. By the time the programme is finished, you're not relying on AI to think for you. You're using it to amplify your own thinking, faster and more confidently. That's the forward-thinking approach.

This is an investment that gets more useful as AI gets more powerful.

Is it worth it?

5

If you measure it in pence per article, the maths is easy: 12 substantive, bespoke, long-form assets that will work for you in multiple forms for many years. For an investment that’s about what you’d spend on a mastermind or a fancy website template. Or possibly even a daily latte habit if you’re really keen on supporting your local barista.

It's more than that though.

A referral partner who confidently sends a relevant link instead of just a mention from memory. A sales conversation where you spend 20 minutes qualifying instead of 60 minutes explaining. An AI-generated draft that doesn't need a complete rewrite. A Google search that surfaces your work to someone you'd never otherwise have met. A single purchase or partnership that happens easily because you have the right assets in place.

The assets keep working and the benefits compound over time.

Along with the feeling of having finally done the work to truly grasp what to say about what you do to get the work you want.

What happens when I request a spot?
