You invested in your visibility. Make the most of it. Make it matter.Make it EASY
to say YES to YOU
You know how to show up powerfully.
How to be strategic about where to be visible. And what opportunities to pursue.
How to regulate your nervous system so you can be seen with presence. Not fear.
All of that's important.
But the question is, once you've been seen, what do they remember?
The answer is in your angle.
What you miss
when you’re not remembered…
A stranger sees your post. Three weeks later, she sees another one. Does she recognise you? Does she remember what you do? Can she describe you to someone else who needs exactly what you offer?
A journalist wants to feature you. When they ask you to explain your work in one line for the intro, can you give them something that makes you sound like the obvious expert, or do you stumble through three versions and hope one lands?
A potential client asks what you do. You explain it. They nod. Then they book someone whose version was easier to repeat.
A CLEAR ANGLE
means you stop missing out
on the opportunities
that you deserve
You don’t need “more confidence.” Really, you don’t. You don’t need to “overcome your fears” about being visible. You need to give visibility something to stick to, to make it worth it. Make it matter.
Without a clear angle, people might remember you. But they won't remember why they'd want to hire you.
A clear angle makes visibility compound.
It's what makes someone who's seen you three times suddenly think, "Oh, she's the one who fixes that thing I've been meant to fix."
It's what makes the press know when you're the person to talk about the thing they want to cover.
It's what makes a referral actually come through for you, because the person sending it could actually explain why you're the right fit.
It's the difference between being vaguely familiar and being instantly recognisable.
Between being generally good at what you do…and being found and remembered as the obvious choice for your specific thing.
The angle is the headline hiding in your expertise.
It's what makes you meaningfully memorable.
Why it’s hard
to get it right
You know your work is good. It’s just hard to put it into words.
And the thing is, the better you are at what you do, the harder it gets. What makes you different doesn't feel special to you.
It's just how you work.
Ordinary. Obvious. Not worth mentioning.
Except it's not ordinary to everyone else.
They just can't see it until you show them where to look.
It’s not about categorising you.
IT’S ABOUT CONNECTING THE DOTS.
Here’s the other thing that makes this hard.
Most of the tools designed to help you with this assume you fit into a pre-defined category.
Do the personal branding quiz. Find your type, your style. Clarify your niche. Pick one thing.
When your value comes from a particular combination of experiences, skills, and perspective…
following a framework that forces a category takes away the very thing that makes you uniquely choosable.
You end up with a version of yourself that's simpler, safer, and utterly forgettable.
Or you try to include everything and lose people two sentences in.
Maybe you’ve tried fixing it on your own.
You've rewritten your bio…four times this year. It still doesn't feel right.
You've asked AI to help and it handed you back something that could be anyone's LinkedIn summary with your name at the top.
It’s not your fault.
It’s that you're too close to see it. Your own angle looks ordinary to you, because it's just who you are.
That’s why an outside read is the quickest way to catch what you can't.
I’M LAURIE KOZAN
brand and marketing strategist
I help founders, experts and independent consultants attract more of the people they really want to work with. If you’re good at what you do, but need a better way to share that with others, you’re in the right place.
My career has been a series of stepping stones leading me to this place — a marketing degree, intuitive coaching, design, copywriting and more.
Early in my career, I was a PR specialist at a busy NYC agency, working with large US and global brands you’ve probably shopped with — Target, eBay, Avon, AT&T and others.
To be good at PR, you also have to be good at strategic messaging, smart targeting, solution-finding, idea-mining and powerful writing. At spotting connections among what’s going on in the world, what people think about it, and what you’re trying to say. At knowing how to communicate what’s true to you, in a way that resonates with the people you want to reach.
These days, when we’re all effectively independent publishers, that matters more than ever. Of course we can post or publish whatever and whenever we like — but is it really designed to have the impact you want it to have?
looking from different angles helps you find the right one
- START HERE -ASK GOOD QUESTIONS
What comes so easily to you that you forget that others often struggle with it?
What do you assume that everyone else knows about your work, but actually, they don't?
What do people say about you when they recommend you to others?
What's your favourite part of your work, the part you'd do without getting paid?
What do your best or favourite clients or customers have in common?
How does your work relate to what's going on in the world? Not just your industry. The wider world. What's changing? What's becoming more urgent? What are people starting to notice that your work has always accounted for?
What do people get wrong about your work or your industry? What assumptions do potential clients bring that you have to correct before you can even start? What does everyone think is true that actually isn't?
What do you do differently from others with "similar" expertise, and why? Not just what you do. Why you do it that way. What made you decide the standard approach wasn't the best one?
Asking good questions is the best way to start finding your angle.
But the real impact is in what you do with the answers.
You can journal your way through every prompt. Fill pages and pages with insights.
And still not know what to lead with.
Still not know what makes you the obvious choice.
Still not know what your angle actually is.
It’s not you. It’s just what happens when you're the one holding all the pieces.
You need someone outside the picture to see the pattern.
A better way to see what makes you specialTHE ANGLE EXPLORATION
a small investment
in a fresh perspective
The Angle Exploration is a small investment in a fresh perspective.
It won't hand you a finished brand. Not yet.
It will show you a few specific ideas for how you could be talking about your work, each one worth exploring.
A way out of the round-and-round loop.
And somewhere solid to start.
- THE ANGLE EXPLORATION -How It Works
Step by step
The slot you book at the link is our exploration call.
Beforehand that call, I'll send you a short questionnaire to complete, so I arrive already knowing your work and we spend our time on the good stuff rather than the basics.
Then we talk for about 45 minutes, and you leave it with me.
Within 5 working days, you'll have your Angle Exploration: a short written report with fresh ways to see what makes you special.
What you get
A look at how you're coming across now, and where the opportunities are
The pieces of your story and skill that should be working harder for you
Two or three emerging themes or potential directions for your positioning
How to use these insights going forward, and the most useful thing to do next
You’ll have a real sense of what you've got to work with. And when you're ready, you (or we) can build on the one that fits best.
What it’s worth
Your investment (£150) covers the whole process, start to finish. The questionnaire, the call, and the written report.
And yes, this part needs to be done by a human.
A regular AI chatbot works by blending together your best bits to make them look like everyone else. That's the last thing you want at this stage. A better way to use AI comes later on, once you’ve built your foundation.
It's a starting point, not the last word, which is exactly the idea.
